Windows Vista pisses me off

Last night I was doing some stuff and had all kinds of open apps.
I went away for like 15 minutes and apparently Windows Vista updated itself and restarted my computer!!!
It probably told me that it’s going to do it but the fact that it just goes ahead and does it is really stupid.

I don’t know who in Microsoft makes these design decisions but it makes me angry that they don’t respect the user.

The reason behind it might be that the updates are important for security or all the other problems Vista has but it’s stupid and it shouldn’t restart my computer without my permission.

It also tries to remember what you where doing but in a retarded way and I lost stuff.

I’m really considering moving to Linux and trowing this piece of crap operating system into trash.

I have tried windows 7 & found it to be a polished version of windows vista that still hits you with common errors like ‘Windows explorer has stopped working’ drive icons that vanish when disks are inserted & problems installing adobe apps.

Dont get me wrong it does seem more stable than vista but the head ache of the last 2 years dealing with vista was to much. I will probebly use OSX for all programming and development tasks.

Have you tried Ubuntu with the wine emulator?

Hey, I used Ubuntu and CentOS using VMWare, it works perfectly but the performance is not good at all…

Which version of Windows 7 did you use? Beta or full?

I used the very latest release candidate on a new blue ray laptop & all i got was grief he he. I have just been looking at your PHP codeing and i must admit it rocks. I use alot of MVC when createing php powered websites & it never lets me down.

One question, do you find if you stop using a programming language for a while you start to get very rusty at it?

Windows 7 takes some getting used to but it’s better than Vista, it’s faster and more stable…

MVC is a great design pattern and makes your life easier.

And yes, if I don’t use a language for a while, I get rusty at it :)
