About a year ago, me and my wife bought 2 “Asus Eee PC 900HA” for eachother as presents, hoping to get a small laptop that we can use as an ultra-portable PC and we were very wrong.
First, my wifes Eee started to hang and die after being on for a while so I figured it might be it’s RAM, I had another RAM and I replaced the old one and sure enough, it was fine.
Then after about 2 months, her Eee started to refuse to turn on so we had to send it back to Asus for repair, before we send it to them, I placed the old RAM hoping that they actually test the product before they send it back but they didn’t and they sent it back with the same defective RAM.
After around 8 months, my Eee started to hang, it was exactly the same issue that we had with the other one and we didn’t bother sending it back…
Now, my wifes Eee is doing the same thing, this laptop kills the RAM for some reason.
All in all, we feel like we wasted 2x$300 on these useless products and will never buy them again.
A few years back, I had another Asus laptop and started to die on me all the time, I think Asus uses low quality electronics in their laptops and I wouldn’t recommend Asus laptops to anyone, you are better off with an HP, Vaio or Dell.
I hope this helps someone.
