Flash CS3 is slow on Windows Vista

Here is how to fix it:
1 – Right click on Flash’s desktop (or whatever) icon and then click “Properties”
2 – Go to compatibility tab
3 – Check the box “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”
4 – From the drop down select “Windows XP (Service Pack 2)”
5 – Open Flash

And that’s it, it will run smoothly, or at least it did for me.

Now this is something I never knew about Vista – thanks! I have CS3 on Vista 64-bit, SP1. I was tired of my Actions panel being really slow when all I was doing was just trying to select text. This did the trick and now it’s as fast as you would expect.

Duuuude, seriously i love ya. I got Windows 7 and CS3, just did the compatibility thing (i’d always had it set up as Windows Service Pack 1 before I changed it to SP2) and it works incredibly. I almost threw out my laptop because of the CS3 now workin as smooth as i wanted. So once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I had this problem when I bought CS4 over two years ago. Searched and searched to no avail. Event reached out to adobe for an answer. Came across this blog post, applied the setting, now it runs smoothly.
    Thanks for nothing Adobe.
